Could it be possible that there was a name change between the 1891 and 1901 census?
1891 has a Daniel Donaldson Wilson, gas fitter from Walsingham, Durham married to Elizabeth.

Think you are going to have to buy Ada May's birth cert to be sure of finding her mother's maiden name. That might make it easier to find a marriage for the parents.
Though, looking at the age gap I suspect Daniel may have already been married before and might not have been able to marry Elizabeth.

This is a copy of a story from Ancestry
"Isabella Coulson - William Wilson. They had a son called daniel donaldson wilson born 1845 in Wolsingham he went on to marry an Elizabeth then later disappeared off records. He later reappeared having married a second Elizabeth and had more children. He changed his surname to Turpin hence why people could not find him or a death. We knew very little about him apart from the old family tales saying he had changed his name they thought for reasons unknown and still unknown. He had a child called Elizabeth Annie to his 1st wife then had another 6 children with his 2nd wife under the new name of Turpin. "
There is a Sept 1867 marriage to Elizabeth Jones which could be the first marriage

this puts him over 10 years older than he says in 1911 and 7 years older than 1901
it does seem to point to being the right Daniel, Turpin might actually be Elizabeth's maiden name and Daniel adopted it for some reason
