What is the best search site, with value for money

Being that there are so many sites charging a varying rate to subscribe now on the net, I need to know from those who have used these facilities. Can anyone recommend a good site that is value for money and does not charge you continually for information. I am new at this and I need to tract all my relatives documents as no one in my family is interested in helping me find my relatives.

Researching families can be difficult if your name is Smith but we can try to help you,
