Hi, myself and a contact who share some relatives are faced with a problem now, you have all been a big help so far and I have passed on what you have found about the Cheesmans. We still have one missing though if anyone can help with him
James Cheesman born 1894 Strood
My contact thought she had found him with mother Jane but as far as she was aware he came from a family of boys but the one she found is with 2 sisters She doesn't have access to 1911 now so can't take another look.
The one she found was Jane Cheesman, married to a Henry Cheesman with son James and daughters Louisa and Daisy.
Also if the marriage for Jane that was found on the other thread is correct, can anyone find her either called Mead, Smith,Heeks or woodger?
Can anyone help please?
Possible:-

I believe we are looking for Jane ............ born 1864. Chatham Kent.
Searched for Jane with surname Woodger, Mead, Heeks and the Smiths have all been married far longer. Not successful.
Thats right bertie, the one that my contact thought was hers was the wrong age
This is the 1911 entry FI
CHEESMAN, Henry Husband Married M 38 1873 Labourer Farm Chatham
CHEESMAN, Jane Wife Married
22 years F 40 1871 Chatham
CHEESMAN, James Son Single M 17 1894 Clerke Agricultural Strood
CHEESMAN, Daisy Daughter Single F 6 1905 Deptford
CHEESMAN, Louis Daughter Single F 3 1908 East Greenwich
If indeed this is the family (married 22 years) the the MMN would be Rolfe I am guessing.
Jo
Thanks Jo, yes I think she was Rolfe, there is a marriage in 1890 that fits them. I honestly don't think they are the Cheesmans Im after. I think that one of the mariages in 1903 or 1907 will be Jane. She isn't one of my direct line so Im not going to spend money on a marriage cert for her yet.
Having read the previous post, I have realised that it was James the brother of William that you were looking for hoping to find Jane. As others have posted, no luck in finding Jane. Like most, I love a good mystery. I seriesly doubt by the marriage from FreeBMD is Heeks most likely Weeks and mistranscribed. Still no show though for 1911.
Jo
Hi Jo, thanks for your input, if you love a mystery you have come to the right place!
I sent the details of James that bertie found to my contact but she isn't convinced its him
For ref, this is our jane's family -
Jane Cook ~ born Chatham, Kent 1867
Parents James Cook (1841) and Louisa King (22 Jan 1844)
Issue that we know from Jane and William Cheesman -
William (1889), Henry (1891), James (1894), John (1896), Frederick (1899).
James was my contacts Grandfather.

It's not George Woodger - he's married to Maria Annie in 1911
It could be William Arthur Heeks - there's a Jane Heeks b Maidstone aged 43 (ie b c1868) married 7 years with daughter Pattie Jane aged 4 living in Battersea (no husband shown)
