I've had a look on FMP , and the original has CFNRD as maiden name .... rather odd name ! maybe its an abbreviation for Crawford ?
Only thing I can think of is to get in touch with the Worthing BMD office , and explain the stuation they may be able to help , if there's an addendum re the entry somewhere
ok thanks for your help
This is odd, it looks like an error when the copy certificate was sent to the General Register Office in London. There is no other record of a CFNRD on ancestry so I think you need to contact Worthing Register Office. I am sure that this is not the right name for the mother otherwise it would have shown up somewhere else and the Registrar would have queried it at the time.

hi,
i googled the folowindg abreviation cfnrd and this came up comunication forwarding not registered ,wondering if perhaps this has any bearing on it also one from the top of my head certificate for national records department this is just a guess dont know if there is such an office
When the only person of that name and middle initial married in the correct timeframe , it was in the same county.
Her mother's maiden name was recorded as Peterson but it could have been totally different people.
Derek
Sorry - forget that. I've been looking at too many birth records !
It was the spouse who was Peterson.
