Copy of announcement from the free State-sponsored site www.irishgenealogy.ie

    "4th October 2011
Jimmy Deenihan T.D., Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht has today launched further Roman Catholic records of Baptism, Marriage and Burial for County Cork and Dublin City. These historical records are now searchable on the website www.irishgenealogy.ie.

This launch and upgrade of the website www.irishgenealogy.ie brings the total number of searchable Church records up to nearly 3 million. Records from Counties Carlow, Cork, Dublin City and Kerry can all be searched.

The website has already been upgraded to allow for easier use in searching the records and in linking to other important websites providing information on important sources for family history research and what to do and where to stay in order to follow up on the information you have found."
