Hi, I have a connection to the Nodes Family Funeral Service which dates back from the early 1800s. My gr.gr.aunt Catherine Mary Ann Schrier married Wiliam Nodes in December 1864, William being son of William Hawes Nodes c1814 born Middlesex, who was an undertaker. Over the years, successive members of the Nodes Family were involved in the Undertaking business all around London. In the Phone Book for 1956 there are no less than 28 telephone numbers all related to the Nodes Family business. The Registered Office was in Crouch End Hill, London N8. In 1963 many parts of the business went into voluntary liquidation as published in The London Gazette 9th April 1963. Further reports on the liquidation were published in The London Gazette on 26th August 1975.
I want to find out if there might be records of burials performed by the Nodes Company between 1850 and 1950 in an Archive. I have several relations who might have been buried by Nodes Undertakers, but I don't know where they are buried, including my gr.grandparents, Frank Harben Forster who died in 1915 at Guy's Hospital, London, and Ellen Forster who died in 1930 in Felsted, Essex. Frank and Ellen were living in Felsted, but neither were buried there. Frank was born in Tooting Graveney, Surrey, so its possible they might have been buried in Surrey' but where?
I would appreciate any help or advice as to how I might find out where they may have been buried and if there is a Nodes Funeral Service Archive.

Very interesting link posted by Boothhunter! Judging by the meaning of the name, they may have been associated with funerals for a very long time!
