I have a Thomas William Pallas b-1906 in sunderland yet i can not find him in the 1911census
there are 2 other births of a thomas in1902 & 1908 but they are not the one i am looking for
the Thomas i am looking for died in 1978 in sunderland
Is it possible for someone to check his age at death in case his stated birth age is incorrect

    Name: Thomas William Pallas

    Age at Death: 73
    Registration district: Sunderland

Do you know family members which may help us track him down. I feel he is a likely candidate for nmistranscribing

There's a try on Ancestry which has him with parents Robert and Hannah

sibling Hannah b 1910 & Ernest b 1918. They have two of Thomas' children listed (with identifes protected so I think have som e idea)

And on 1911 I have found a Hannah of the right age with a RObert and a Thomas William Metcalf b 1906 maybe explained by the below

    Marriages Mar 1909 Sunderland 10a 782
    DAWSON John William
    METCALF Margaret
    PALLAS Robert
    YOUNG Norah

I think the info on the tree maybe along the right lines but slightly out

    Births Mar 1923 (>99%)
    Pallas Ernest R Metcalf Sunderland 10a 1242

hi mabel just been trying all sites again and came up on free bmd as thomas william pallas b-1906 v-10a page m/27 which when accessed states its a late entry and refers you to the birth in 1927,thats what i call a late entry,so i checked the sunderland site and there was no 1927 birth of a T/W pallas,The marriage of Robert Pallas and Margaret Metcalf in 1909 looks right now and also gives me the other children with mothers name Metcalf from 1911
looks like Thomas William was born befor the marrage
Thanks for your help Mabel I should have spotted the m/27 bit, but it still does not explain his absence from the 1911 census unless he is there with robert & margaret
    regards brian
