Hi Everybody, I'm new to this fantastic site and wondered if there where any Duttons left in Canning Town?
My Grandfather, William Dutton was born in Canning Town in 1881, i think the address was 50 Maston Street? Essex. His father was Benjamin Dutton, and his mother was Elenor Dutton. I think all the family stayed in or around the London area, can anyone help at all? would be really grateful, here's hoping. Tracey

Hello Tracey and welcome to the message board.

Unfortunately due to the data protection act we are not allowed to give information of living people on this board.

However, if you would like to research your family we would be happy to help.

It is very unlikely although not impossible that anyone researching your family would find you on this board.

Thank You so much for your reply, sorry for the delay in coming back to you, i've had some problems with my email address.
I am 99.9% sure that this is my great grandfather, but in the next census William is missing and there are more children, I know for sure that when William was 33 years of age he was in Hull, because he married my grandmother, but where he was in-between these years i have no idea because he never spoke of his past or his family. Any clues as where to start?

You're moderated for about twenty messages, which means they will take a while to show.
When you reply, you don't need to do individual replies to different posts, everyone can see them. As you can probably tell. But sometimes it may be a good idea to quote the post you are answering.

I can't find any William Dutton marriage in Hull - searched 1915 to 1917 on freebmd.

It looks as though your grandparents are gone by now, so can you give us the name of your grandmother if she got married in 1916.

You may need to get the marriage certificate, if we can find the registration.
