Hi Everybody, I'm new to this fantastic site and wondered if there where any Duttons left in Canning Town?
My Grandfather, William Dutton was born in Canning Town in 1881, i think the address was 50 Maston Street? Essex. His father was Benjamin Dutton, and his mother was Elenor Dutton. I think all the family stayed in or around the London area, can anyone help at all? would be really grateful, here's hoping. Tracey

Hello Tracey and welcome to the message board.
Unfortunately due to the data protection act we are not allowed to give information of living people on this board.
However, if you would like to research your family we would be happy to help.
It is very unlikely although not impossible that anyone researching your family would find you on this board.

Thank you so much for your reply, sorry, it was a bit silly of me as i know you that you can't give out information of living people, but you never know, one of the duttons maybe doing some research as well ......
Thank You so much for your reply, sorry for the delay in responding back to you, but have had problems with my email address.
I think the information which you gave me is the correct William Dutton, in the following cencus is states he is in prison, but i can't find out who is wife is, it just states married? any clues as to where i go from there?
Thank You so much for your reply, sorry for the delay in coming back to you, i've had some problems with my email address.
I am 99.9% sure that this is my great grandfather, but in the next census William is missing and there are more children, I know for sure that when William was 33 years of age he was in Hull, because he married my grandmother, but where he was in-between these years i have no idea because he never spoke of his past or his family. Any clues as where to start?
You dont get e mails from this website so the only way to see a reply is to come and check and check on My discussions at the side to see if there is a reply.

I can't find any William Dutton marriage in Hull - searched 1915 to 1917 on freebmd.
It looks as though your grandparents are gone by now, so can you give us the name of your grandmother if she got married in 1916.
You may need to get the marriage certificate, if we can find the registration.

Sculcoates came under Hull until 1934, so maybe .................

I think William marrying Annie are an older couple who I can see in West Ham and were married to others in 1891
