Meant to say, his place of work was a saw-mill.

Also it is badly transcribed for the address. It is 18 Yorke Street, Monkwearmouth, Sunderland

Do you require information from other census to try and locate the other children or do you have them all?

This looks like Catherine in 1881 with her maternal grandparents. Perhaps she is the other survivor.

So far - apart from William Wilson 1871 - 1874, James Morris 1873 - 1874 and Matthew Francis 1877 - 1878, all sons of William and Alice -

I can only see two possible Alexander Hogarth 1886 - 1888
    Dorothy Jane 1883 - 1886

Both with just father William and both from Bonners Field as is Matthew and where the family were living in 1881 and 1891 (though different numbers)

Hi Jo I feel so GUILTY while I have been soaking up the sunshine on the coast you have sorted out all the wheatley children for me (but i did enjoy it )
So Catherine Alice was a survivor ,i should have found that on the 1881 census
and James Morris was the other child who died at the same address as William Wilson at North Quay
Dorothy Jane, Mathew Francis and Alexander Hogarth all died at Bonner's Field where they must have moved to after the 1874 deaths
Thanks so much for all your help and hope you still had time for a pleasant day
    regards brian

    Soaking up the sun eh?

I can be at the seaside in about 3 minutes, but because I can I never do.

    Glad to be of assistance.
