Is there anyone that wouldn't mind please to help with looking for the burial record of Fanny Cox born 1845 died 1910? There is a death registration in the same name and approximately the same age, the death being registered in Greenwich. I am hoping the burial information may give me confirmation before I order a death certificate. Greenwich is where her son lived in 1911 so it may just be her record.

    Many thanks
    Ewan

    Hi Ewan

Is Fanny short for something? I can't find a Fanny Cox on FMP with those dates

Thank you Michelle, I looked on ancestry and was looking at a death registration (which I had already seen on freebmd) as opposed to a London burial, I was thinking that Fanny Cox born 1845 who died in 1910 was the burial record. Fanny/Ellen/Helen could of died any time between 1901 and 1911, and unfortunately any where! It was just that the age did match hers and the area being Greenwich, as mentioned was where her son lived.

The only way perhaps of knowing whether this was the correct lady would be to send for the death certificate.

I don't know whether the London parish records are complete on ancestry, if this is the case she may not be recorded on them yet, or there is the chance that she was buried outside of London.

Thanks for your help and interest.
    Ewan

Although she may have been buried in a churchyard it is more likely to have been in a cemetery and there are 5 cemeteries in the area including Greenwich at this time. The Greenwich Heritage Centre may be able to help, but I think that Fanny is not her birth name as doesn't seem to appear on census searches for Greenwich for 1901.

Thanks dmatt47, never thought of a cemetary burial for some reason I am always thinking of a churchyard. I tried contacting the relevant people today but I think there phone was on the blink (according to a recorded message). In the meantime | believe I have the will of the said Fanny Cox who died in 191 I aged 65, as it turned out it was the wrong person then three years ago.

The person whose death I am searching for was baptised as Ellen Fanny, on the latest census I have her on,1901 Islington, she is named as Ellen, but on the 1891 she is down as Fanny, so the difficult task I have is locating the correct lady.

I did start searching for her death record 3 years ago without success, but I would now like find it and see if I can locate where she was buried.
