Can someone please read the occupation of James, also this seems to be his 2nd wife? but the only marriage that fits in the 1890s is I think his son, James Alfred.. I cannot see a death for 1st wife Emily. Thank you.

I think the occupation is 'Beer Retailer'

Re 2nd wife - 1891 his wife was Polly - I think this is a derivative of Mary Ann - so maybe same wife?

I think that his occupation is beer retailer, it s rather badly written, but the occupation abbreviation seems to be Pub (ie publican). I think you have two marriages as the age of his wives in 1891 and 1901 are very.different.

Yes Glen that's the son. He dies in the 1920s and there is a will with him leaving Β£800 to his wife!! Can't see a death for his father though. Many thanks both of you.
