Hi everyone
I am trying to find the whereabouts of my Gt grandmothers younger brother Ernest. Last known about at the Horse & Jockey Inn at Ayot St Peter in 1895. He is on the 1891 census here with his wife Alice(Jeakings). I have all census records up to 1891 then he and Alice disappear. Alice's younger brother William takes over the pub and is on the 1901 census at this address.
I have looked at the emigration sites that I have access to but can't find them on these. If anyone would like doing a bit of detective work, I would be very grateful

just some thoughts, which may be worth looking at..
seeing Alice was born in London, I looked at the LMA baptisms to see if there were any Jaques children being baptised to Alice
There is a Dorothy Gladys Jacques 1892 dauther of William James and Alice Emily Jacques and he is a licensed victualler.
I can't see the family easily on the censuses?
Gladys dies in Gravesend as a spinster 1981
this family go onto have 2 sons
Harold Mervyn Jacques 10 May 1894 William James Jacques,
Alice Emily Jacques Kentish Town St Barnabas Camden
Cecil Robert Frank Jacques 26 Jun 1901 William James Jacques,

I still can't find this family, must be a very bad transcription error!
1911 they are there without the father

Many thanks for all your suggestions.
JC - I don't think the 1911 census details are mine. Alice was definately born in Little Paxton
It isn't my tree on Ancestry.
Jan - the death you found certainly seems a long way from Ayot St Peter - I'll keep it in mind - just in case.
The Louise with them in 1891 is Alice's sister. She moves back home to Tetworth and then gets married - did check to see if she was with them in 1901 and 1911.
Oh well - something to put on the back burner.
Thanks again for you time.
Jay

Hi Mabel
Many thanks. These look very promising.
I have Hulett down somewhere in my notes- I think as a witness at a wedding of someone. Must go through them - housework on hold for today I think
I'll have another look for a death record for Ernest.
Thanks again
Jay
yes I think Mabel has managed to find them... well done
