On the 1891 census I have the following:

    Minnie F Pearce age 9, (b Sep 1881 Fulham 1a 187)
    Julia E Pearce age 8

They are the children of Louisa Westwood Braithwaite and William George Pearce (Married 1880, Fulham)

I cannot find a record for the birth of Julia. Also, where was the family in subsequent censuses? What happened to them?

As always, any help would be much appreciated.

1891 census (for reference). I think Julia's age is 8 on the original. The 9 against Minnie's age has a long downstroke on to the next line making it look like 18 rather than 8.

Trying to piece all this information together!

I am only interested in tracing the children of Louisa Westwood Pearce(nee Braithwaite) who was married 1880 and died 1902.

    To summarise:

    Minnie F Pearce on 1891 and 1901 - married 1903

Julia E Pearce on 1891 age 8 - no birth record or anything apart from 1891 census

    Doris May Pearce b 1892 on 1901
Marjorie Westwood Pearce b1894 on 1901 and 1911
Emma Lulu Pearce b? on 1901
These three on baptism record, source not known

I am working through BMD, but only have access to freebmd site.

    Thanks for your assistance -

The 3 baptisms are from the London Metropolitan Archives on Ancestry............ unfortunately there's no birth date on the originals for these girls .......... ( some records do have birthdates on , I suppose it depended on the officials of the churches )

Would someone kindly look up the 1891 and 1901 census for:

Louisa Westwood Pearce (b 1860) and husband, William George W Pearce

This may just help with the whereabouts of the children.

    Thanks.

We've been confused by TWO mistranscriptions of the same person

    1891 has Julia E Pearce b 1882
    1901 Has Emma L Pearce b 1891

I think they are one and the same

    Firstly from BMD

    Name: Emma Lulu Pearce
    Date of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep 1882
    Registration district: Fulham
Inferred County: Greater London, London, Middlesex
    Volume: 1a
    Page: 190

I think 1891, the image of which does say Julia, comes from a mishearing of Lula

1901's image has Emma L clearly as aged 18, not 10 as transcribed by Ancestry
