Realise I'm being a pain with two consecutive messages but grateful if anyone could please look up two ancestors on the 1851 census for Somerset.

Seeking Thomas Brock (age would be approx 19) and Eliza Brock (age would be approx 16) - both resident in Nempnett Thrubwell. They may be living with their parents or just their mother - John Brock (who'd be about 75) and Elizabeth (or Betsy) who'd be about 60.

    Thanks!

    Hi
Checked my Somerset CD for 1851 with little success, there are a number of Brocks and I picked out few below.

    In Bleadon
THOMAS BROCK aged 25 butcher born Lympsham, with wife Charlotte, F-in-L Arthur Rider and nephew Mathew Milland .
There was a John BROCK aged 31 born Nempnett and living Dundry.
In Bristol/ Bedminster ELIZABETH BROCK 21 years servant born Nempnett.

Do you have any additional infomation?

Hi There - thanks for the feedback.. I know Thomas was born in Nempnett in 1832. On the 1841 census he's living with his elderly parents & young sister.

It may be that he was working in Blagdon or one of the nearby areas rather than being in Nempnett in 1851.

I can trace him through all census entries up to 1901 and his age is quite accurately transcribed on all the ones I've seen so I'm guessing he'd only be 19/20 on 1851 records.
He'd be employed as a farm labourer, farm servant, or general labourer. All through his life he worked in farming in some capacity or other.
In 1851 he was still single.

The other option is that he may be in Chew Magna or Chew Stoke - his wife, Hannah Vowles came from one of these areas.

    Regards

Hi sorry I took so long but I have checked CD of 1851 Somerset again and still cannot find Thomas Brock and family. The transcriber has noted difficulty in reading film.
I tried to find Nempnett village on CD but this proved impossible as well so could be problem with transcripters film copy.
