Hello,I hope one of you lovely people can help me.I,m trying to build up a family tree on my mothers side.
I,v managed to get back to a James Inchliff,b.c1795 in Yorkshire but thats all I know.Is there anyone who recognises the name. I,v heard there,s an Inchliff Mill in West yorkshire but again I,v hit a wall.
Many thanks in anticipation
Hi spotnick2, Are you spelling the name INCHLIFF or should it be HINCHLIFF? also do you have a place od birth as this would help?
Regards
Spike
Hi Spike many thanks indeed for your message. I,m sorry but all the information I have is as it is in my first message. I know theres hardly anything to go by so you can imagine my frustration. As regards the spelling of Inchliff,it was spelt this way up until 1847 then another C and an E on the end suddenly appeared. From then until the present it,s "Inchcliffe" it,s never had an H at the beginning though,at least in my family.Once again Spike many thanks and I,m sorry i cant help with more detailed information
Hi spotnick2,
I hit the a brick wall as well, are you aware if he ever got married and had childern. If so can you put up year, place and who he married and children. This would help with a side ways search.
Also if you put Inchliff Mill in your search engine you will have an historical site that may help with regards to your mill enquiry.
Regards
Spike
