Searching for a information or a picture of my great great Grandfather Benedict Bandi. He was born 1837 in Oberwil Switzerland. He came to America with his brother John and Niklaus.
He served in Civil War on the Union Side. He was a member of Battery A, West Virginia Light Artillery.
Seeking information on his platoon and especially a book or website where I can find a picture.

You would be better off trying a military discussion board - www.theminiaturespage.com is a wargamers/figures site really, but you will get good guidance on basic info. I would also suggest that you look at the Osprey Military series for plenty of cheap and well-illustrated books on the ACW, which will flag up the main sources. There are specific artillery books in the New Vanguard series.

Thank you I will check out this website
