I am trying to trace the groom in the marriage of Charlotte Emily Davison.
In Ancestry I have found:
Charlotte Davison
Dec 1865
Medway Vol 2a Page 643
Unfortunately, when I click on check record it and then the page number it doesn't show any other names. I get the same result with FBMD.
Can anyone help?
Thanks

Hi, the only way round this one i think is to order the cert to rule in or out. i assume that you know who Charlottes parents are. If you know Charlottes Father and occupation the marrige cert will confirm or rule out this marraige partner. you will have to decide wether it is worth investing in the cert.

Process of elimination, especially if you know her parents. Check on the 1851, 1861 census's - know her age and look for Charlotte ??? in Kent about the same age on 1871, 1881 census. Though the ages are sometime incorrect it would be a good guide. Once you think you have his name find his marriage and see if they have the same date, Vol, page as your Charlotte. It will be a lot of searching but could be worth a check before ordering the certificate.

Searched the 1871 census for all the Charlotte's born in 1846 in Chatham, and found her at the second attempt with her husband and daughters. How did I know it was her? Her brother was living with her as well!
