My great grand father was awarded OBE ( my mother was quite sure ) in Singapore after the 2nd World War. He was helping the British but I don't know the history behind it. I was very young then. I would like to find out more but I don't where to start. He was a Singaporean when Singapore was part of the British Empire. I appreciate any help!

You could try The National Archives, Kew, London, as there are several categories of records that may help but possibly records and newspapers in Singapore may also help. The Times newspaper may have listed your great-grandfather.
