I need this link to make sure I have the correct family. I have searched 1837online, freebmd, familysearch. But nothing. An American link gave me some details but seems all his details, taken from a bible, are 1 year out. My G G grandfather Thomas Ayscough was born Dec 1837 and I have his birth certificate (Male Ayscough, b Dec 1837, Stallingborough, District Caistor). But to ensure I have his parents, I need to match his siblings. He has only one older sibling b 1842 or 1843, d 26/1/1853. But I have found her death aged 11 25th Jan 1854 and her death cert March Q 1854, Caistor 7a/385. The death cert will not give her parents name. So I am trying to trace her Birth cert. Any ideas anyone please????
Jo
Forgot to say her name was Martha.
The death certificate will give her father's name. Have you checked the 1851 census and any burial register entry?.
Hi Jowin1,
On the 1851 census there appears to be only one Martha Ayscough born about 1840 in Tetney living with her parents. A Tomas Ayscough is shown in the same area at a different address ocupation a servent.
HO 107/ 2112 Folio 465 Page 21 refers.

Well in dem der days they often wrote the name as it sounded didn't they. Well in the 1841 census, they were all askews so thought I would go down that road and found a Martha Askew b Caistor (Stallingborough registry district). So have sent for her birth certificate. Hopefully if it not the correct one, I will probably have to find the death cert. Thanks for your help
