I have been trying to trace details of my g.g.grandmother Maria Elizabeth Abbs who according to her marriage certificate was born in 1847 in Norwich, Norfolk.
She married Harry Gray in 1866 at Norwich Register Office and they had three children, Alice b. 1868, Herbert b. 1870 and Edith b. 1876. Unfortunately her father's name was not listed on the marriage cert and I have not been able to find her birth cert or her details on the 1851 or 1861 census.
I have tried different variations of her first and last name but have not been successful in finding her.
I know that she died in 1931 in Norwich.
I would be so grateful for any tips on tracking her and her parents down.

I would also check her death certificate as her father's name should appear. You could check the original marriage certificate in the Norfolk Record Office for the missing information, have you looked under Apps for the birth entry?.
