I am looking for any advice on how to research (from Australia) music hall or stage families in the early 1900s. I am trying to trace an Edith Clements who was my great grandmother married to Albert Povey and the mother of four children - Albert (my GF), Florence, Lily (still alive 90 years old and living in Bewdley I think) and Edith.
Albert snr disappeared after WW1 (he was taken prisoner) however he didn't return home for two years after the end of the war. No-one seems to know where he was during this time. (? a German line of Poveys)
I understand these Clements were entertainers of some type or possibly vaguely in the entertainment business. I have been unable to find any Clements in show business in the UK in the late 1800s from Australia.

    Hi Ozangela,
Are you able to say where about in England would they have resided? Help to narrow the field down.
    Regards
    Spike
