My Nan was born in Malaysia probably around 1890 ish as my Dads elder brother was born 1914 and my Dad 1916. My Nans dad worked for the British High commission and died in Malaysia so my Nan and her mum returned to England. Her name was Maria Taylor. Any one any ideas on how I can track her back please?

Managed to track their marriage in 1912 so may be able to track back without getting her birth cert after all. Just means more search & find.

Can anyone advise a website or contact where I can find my Nans birth certificate? She was born in The Malay States in about 1884. Her father was a Crown Agent and died there and she returned to England with her mum and became a teacher in a catholic convent until her marriage in 1912 in Newcastle. This is the only branch of my family tree which I cannot track back. She was called Catherine Taylor and her fathers name was Daniel.
Any advises would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Jo
