Please can anyone help me to trace my grandfather James Borders born in Salford Lancs Feb 1883.
Died Dec 1947 buried in Salford cemetary
Father was Henry Borders
Mother Elizabeth nee Wood
He is on the 1891 census Father Henry, Mother Elizabeth. Brother Arthur b abt 1881. Sister Amy b abt 1885. By 1901 he is not with the family and I can't see him anywhere else but it may have been mis transcribed. By 1901 there is another daughter Alice b abt 1893. Also the mother has changed to Annie. Someone else may be able to help but I will keep looking.

Alison, as you have 'new' following your name I am assuming that you do not realise that you can search and obtain this information for yourself. There are two ways. Either by visiting the census section at the site of the TNA (The National Archives) or Ancestry. co. uk. For both at present the search is free but to view the actual record will require payment. Ancestry allow you to buy a small amount of credits or TNA will allow payment by credit card or pre-paid voucher, the smallest amount allowed is Β£5.
