Can anyone suggest where I can find information about theatre families. My ancestors were musicians and actors in the 19th C. Names Bernaschina and Morland. They appear to have changed the name between 1876 and 1881. Is there anywhere that name changes would be registered at that time. I would like to find out more. Can anyone help?

Name changes in the UK have never had to be 'registered'. You could and still can change your name by deed poll. Or you can assume a name and as long as you use it for all things and do not attempt deceit, there is no problem.

As far as researching your ancestors is concerned, enter 'UK theatre+genealogy" into google and you will see a plethora of useful resources.
