Ancestry.com are now showing the 1851 census as available, has anybody had any luck searching on it. I have not been successful so wonder if it is not yet fully operational.
Hi Keylady,
I have yet to access it. Where on Ancestry is it?
Regards
Spike
I also can't see it on either Ancestry.com or Ancestry.co.uk
Hello Spike
Go onto UK Census collection on Ancestry.com scroll census dates. Have just checked, it's stll there
Thank you, I will
Regards
Spike
It is the 10% sample for 1851 that has been available for sometime. I cannot see a listing for the full 1851 census.
I notice though that the site has had a makeover, so perhaps they are getting ready to launch 1851 very soon.
Hi again,
I do not think that the 1851 census is yet complete. I put in known details and it came back no trace
Perhaps it is a case of watch this space and wait for your 'area' to go live?
Many thanks anyway.
Regards
Spike
Sorry to raise everyones hopes. As you say we will have to watch for any changes
