What's in a name? Lovely Towhey or Loval Towhey

    Researching family history on grandmother's side and have discovered the family name is Lovely Towhey or Loval Towhey.
    Got back to birth date of great grandfather but can't get back any further.
    On 2 different census returns 1881 and 1891 Frederick William Lovely or Loval Towhey (blind musician) gives his birth place as Ireland and on another Woolwich Kent but I haven't been able to establish where he was actually born or anything about his parentage...Drawn a blank on Ancestry.com and similar sites.
    Anyone any idea's... Jackie
