I know you all love a puzzle and I have yet another one!! Don't I always? smiley - biggrin

    Ok here goes.....

James Nibblett (Niblett or Neblett or any other spelling you can think of) married an Elizabeth Drury in the June Quarter of 1896. Elizabeth Drury (I assume Drury was her first married name) was a widow with six sons when she married James and ten years his senior! The six sons were Edward c1883 , Percy c1884, Arthur c1886, William c1888, George c1891 & Thomas c1893 (all dates are those given on the 1901 Census.

Elizabeth was born c1862 and assuming that she married prior to the eldest boys birth I have been trying to locate a marriage for her or the forename of her first spouse. I don't have access to the 1891 Census and wondered if someone could look this Drury family up for me. The boys were all born in Bulwell, Nottinghamshire so hopefully it wont be too much of a problem. I realise that there will only possibly be four or five of the boys on this census but it's really the name of their father I am looking for. If anyone can help me with that and the details of the Census source information I would greatly appreciate it.

    Many thanks

    Michelle

    Hi Jean

Many thanks for the information you left for me. I must apologise for taking so long to get back to you. It's school holiday time here in Melbourne and with all the kids home I haven't had a lot of time to get on here and check on messages for the last few days. Hence the fact I'm on here at 2am in the morning and just about ready for my bed, especially since I am having two of my grandsons to stay for the next couple of days.

Once again very many thanks for once again taking the time to look up and send me so much information.

    Best Regards
    Michelle

It looks like Lizzie was one of the only Ladies of the time to do her age correctly - I've heard stories about ladies being 31 on the 1831 census, and only being 36 on the 1841 census!!!!
