The national burial index covers all of GB.
There is a second edition which you would expect to pay about Β£42 for new. It does not have every burial on it but you may get lucky. Your central city library or records office might have it free to view.
Family History Online have a good database. Pay to view Β£5. Long expiry on it too.

Its just luck really, some will be on and some won't be. Hal.

I've looked for Gertrude Senior and Bennett Spedding and neither of them are on the registers
for the years and areas. Sorry Dopey Melvyn. Hal.

Hi, thanks for your replies, I'll have a search on the sites that you suggested. My search centres mainly in Norfolk so I'll check what records are available on the CD for this area before buying it. I think if I were able to find the graves of my some of my ancestors it would really help to bring my research to a satisfactory conclusion.

The NBI covers 105,000 burials in Norfolk 1538 to 2003. Work it out...it isn't very many in the scheme of things! The vast majority of the burials covered are in the 1826 to 1860 period. You can check how well a county is covered by using the information available at www.familyhistoryonline.net

To be honest I was very disappointed with my purchase of the NBI. Taking into account I was looking for burials over a wide spread of the country and over a fair period of time, I found one!

The actual database is available on the aforementioned web site on a pay to view basis. A better option for most people, I think.
