Hey folks,
I'm an independant filmmaker looking to make a short documentary about the Bethnal Green Tube Disaster in 1943.
I'm looking for some volunteers who can help with my research, who perhaps were there / knew people who were there, or perhaps had relatives involved.
Any form of contribution would be fantastic, and I'd like to interview as many people as possible about the subject.
Thanks
Laura
Hi Laura,
A transcript of the official inquiry into the Bethnal Green Tube Station Disaster in 1943 can be found at the National Archives at Kew. If you don't already have a reader's ticket you will need to produce some form of identification. Once you have studied the transcript you may be able to trace any remaining survivors, if any. It is sixty-odd years after the event after all.
P.S. Make sure you take a pencil with you when visiting the NA at Kew. They don't like pens after some character tried to alter some documents a few years back.
