So, the last I heard on the news (admittedly I find the daily news too depressing and my finger isn't exactly on the pulse!) was that a succession of investigating leading British Policemen had 'resigned' from the case, citing the usual polite and expedient official reasons, but thinly masking their anger/disgust/annoyance, etc?

I personally wasn't won over by her, and admire ole Charlie, but her death was sickening, and deeply tragic, as is human loss of life in general.

But, spoonfed by the media as we mostly are, is it to be understood that no news is 'good news' for those who don't want her odd/tragic death (depending upon one's viewpoint) looked into, and nothing further will be done because we dumb masses only care about reality TV and soaps?

I for one don't want a single penny more of my taxes wasted opn yet another enquiry which will show what we all know: wearing a seatbelt saves lives.

Cars crash. Even ones with famous people in them.

Well they are well and truely dead now, continual raking over the ashes is not going to bring them back nor prove anything new. This subject has really become tiresome, maybe the simplest and cheapest solution to the problem would be just to get rid of the royals all together?

Many will be relieved not to have them continually shoved in our faces anyway.

I thought this topic had well and truly died like the lovely but flawed lady herself.
Even the beautiful people are not immortal, especially when trying to outrun the press in a powerful car whilst not wearing seatbelts.
I must admit I for one am bored to sobs with all of the conspiracy theories, and as for a plot between MI5 and the Duke of Edinburgh, - for heavens' sake! Get a life!

The subject seemed to have died, yes, which prompted my post. I don't particularly care for Diana especially, nor alot of internet conspiracy theories (even though I am not prepared to swallow every straight-forward 'accident' and death around the globe, but I do have a life!), or even if Britain is 'bored' with the whole saga.

I also don't wish any further taxpayer's money spent on such ventures either. The reason why i posted, despite the obvious irritation it arouses, is the several Policemen who resigned from the case - not seemingly from 'boredom' - and the media not reporting anything aferwards?

    Man Alive,

Yes, I too often wonder why the press have gone 'cold' at the resignation news.
And despite people baulking at 'Raking over dead coals' and costs for further investigations etc, I think we owe it to ourselves to make fully sure that there was no nefarious activity on the part of the powers that be. Any further action by investigators must be allowed to continue until a definitive conclusion can be forwarded.

How do you proove a negative?

Frankly, the whole thing is a massive waste of time and money. those who believe it a murder will continue to do so regardless of how many reviews are conducted showing it wasn't.

What do we owe it to ourselves. It was a dreadful accident; had she worn her seat belt, she would in all probablity not have died. It was a tragedy for her family and friends.

The public loved the fairy tale wedding but behind that was an ill matched couple, who individually had much to offer but not to each other. Time to allow Princess Diana to rest in peace and to remember the loving beautiful flawed woman she was.

Conspiracy theories keep investigators busy and presses rolling but there must be a time to say enough is enough.

Because there was an inquest, which went into all the details and came to exactly the same conclusion as everyone else. There is nothing more to investigate, nothing more to be said.
