Just noticed quoted passages are now in a dotted box is that just on my new laptop… or another gift from the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ…?
Not just you Bandick.
When they introduced the changes a couple of months ago, quotes were not so obvious. I asked if this was readable by partially sighted people at the time when they asked for feedback, so maybe you can blame me.
Or probabaly not.
no this had only just happend... well on my laptop anyway, but i only got it yesterday... i would have noticed it before... so how do you include a quote. i thought it was anything inbetween < > but everything vanished.
must keep taking the pills.
must keep taking the pills.Β
Well, let's test it using the same quotes system as before....
Mind you, half the time I manage to mis-type it.

³Ω±π²υ³Ω…
done it again... how do you type in italics... i do that and it come out ordinary
bandick you type < then the word quote then > You must paste your quote immediately after that > and at the end, again immediately, type < then / then quote then >
If there are any spaces between the <, and 'quote' and > and the pasted bit or the final < and the / and the 'quote' and > it won't work.
If you go to the FAQ link on the left you'll find it explained.
here goes for another dummies test...
Add your own comments and then post the message, the text you are quoting will appear in italicsΒ
good luck quote, see you on the other side.

ItΒ΄s not possible to write in italics, it appears when you start at the quotation with <, and then at the end take a slash after <, so to say take this </, then write quote and use again >
ThatΒ΄s all about it.
Oh magic and deep joy… trouble is now… whenever I do a quote… everyone will laugh and say… he’s just showing off now.
As the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ have gone to the trouble of giving us lovely boxes in order to make quotes clearer, can we take this as a positive sign regarding possible board closure in the immediate future?

From my experiences on the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 3 MBs last year, I wouldnΒ΄t rely on anything concerning the ways the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ finds to make decisions about message boards at all. They announced the closure of the R3 MBs in the middle of November last year and left the people 14 days to complete or start threads. The only option left was to switch to facebook or twitter. No one had expected that, even by setting up a new design for the boards. ThereΒ΄s no guarantee.
That is depressing news Thomas, I don't feel nearly so positive now. Oh well, I suppose we just have to wait and see.
Probably it sounds depressing, islanddawn, but as far as these boards are not mentioned in the reports of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ cuts, they might be given time at least up to 2014. So far the schedules on the cuts are settled. But there are app. 300 from 900 jobs to be cancelled on the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ staff, most of them operating on MBs serving the Asian programmes of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ.
The History message boards are now closed. They remain visible as a matter of record but the opportunity to add new comments or open new threads is no longer available. Thank you all for your valued contributions over many years.
