  Hi Gid & Co.
  
  Not sure this is the place for blatant sycophancy as this seems to go against grain of Messageboard etiquette. But but but your show always hits spot for me and I try to listen to every show by hook or by crook. Over the last couple of weeks it seems to me you have hit a particularly rich vein of form. I thought Monday's show was a corker from start to finish crowned by the pairing of Bacharach and Leisure Society with some fantastic music along the way.
  
  Having written something so positive I now feel all lopsided. To balance things up I am not keen on the newish collection of 6 Music jingles/station idents which crash in at the end of some tunes. I am not of a particulalry nervous disposition but deployed suddenly at the end of a track, particularly a quiet or laid back one they make me jump out of my skin, however these are across the whole network not just your show.
  
  To cut a long message short, more power to your elbow.

  Nowt wrong with telling Gid how good his show is, especially as some of us old lags probably simply assume that he knows how highly we rate him as a broadcaster and therefore don't bother to give him the occasional pat on the back.
  
  As for the jingles etc. making you jump, perhaps you should get yourself a DAB radio instead of tuning in via your hook or crook. Shepherds' work implements are notorious for exaggerating the volume of idents, trails and beds and should only be used in an emergency.

  I’d like to add some sycophantic praise for last nights show too (Weds), especially the Low Anthem/Jet Set Junta back to back which worked really well. And I was Overcome by Happiness to hear some vintage Pernice Bros in the same half hour. Top stuff!
  
  With you promising to play some sunset tunes the next few weeks, I hope you take one of your listeners suggestions for a Walkabouts track (think it was their cover of β€˜Feel like going home’). Don’t hear enough of their music on 6.
