Message board update

  If all goes to plan we're going to move to the new message board system on Monday - just giving you a bit of advance notice.
  
  Shortly after we move over, we should be able to implement search on the board - that'll probably happen within a week or so.

  Peta, great to keep Gid's MB going on the new system.
  
  Will there be a more general 6Music MB again? after all, I know the Gid army (don't mean the man himself) love their music-related puns but when Lady La La starts a biscuity thought rolling, we should have a friendly place to follow it up. Facebook and Twitter are clearly too open to "troll and snipe" attacks for my liking, which spoils the atmos altogether ...

  No, there are no plans to extend the number of message boards.
  
  On Facebook and Twitter we can interact with a far greater number of people and it's easy for them to then share information about 6 Music with their friends and get others involved, most of the interactions I've seen have been pretty good natured, they seem friendly enough places overall.
  
  We can also more easily share videos, photos and so on, so they work pretty well for us.
  
  So no, no new boards planned.

  I find the ethos of our messageboards, where all are welcome and unusual contributions are positively revelled in, very different from the "content-free internet argument" syndrome all too often seen on the internet.
  
  Here I am on Gid's board racing to post before the National Anthem and the little white dot saying that the interactive element of Lammo's Round Table is diminished by being accessible via Twitter and Facebook. "Troll, Snipe and Away" contributors fire off one, single, nasty, unhelpful, negative comment and disappear into the ether.

  well I got that post in at 23:59! I continue: the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ should ensure that all web comment allows high standards, e.g. posts of "you smell" can be removed. Presuming them to be largely untrue in the sense in which they are meant...
