Here it is. There are some excellent new festive records that I'd like to play. What else would you like to hear between about the 6th and the 23rd. I won't overegg it until the last one.
Suggestions please..
Lewie?
Gaudete?
Ring out Solstice Bells?
Shakey?

oh... how could I forget Malcolm Middleton, Burst Noel. 'Last year I got knives for Christmas...' Brilliant.
ghost of christmas - the manics - it's like a slade tribute
also - this year's xmas Killer's track, Boots
Everything's gonna be cool this Christmas. - eels
Christmas is not Christmas without a bit of Jona Lewie. I have a permanent earworm of the "doo-bi-doo-bi-doo doo" bit over the festive season (you know the bit I mean!)

What about "New York is a Christmas Kind of Town" by Marah from their 2005 Christmas album?
Or "Christmas Day" by Jim White. That's a bit long though so maybe "Merry Christmas (I Don't Want to Fight Tonight)" by the Ramones which is obviously shorter.
Just, out of interest, how does everyone feel about...
10 christmas chestnuts round my zone (but not new):
*Just Like Christmas by Low
*My Father My King by Mogwai
*Jesus Christ by Big Star
*Xmas with Simon by The Fall
*Frosty the Snowman by Cocteau Twins
*The Little Boy That Santa Claus Forgot by Associates
*Father Christmas by The Kinks
*any track from Phil Spector's Christmas
*Christmas #1 by The Black Arts
*Dead by Christmas by Hanoi Rocks
Might I suggest 'Israel' by Siouxsie and the Banshees?

How about
Carla Thomas - Gee Whiz, It's Christmas
John Prine - Christmas In Prison
Sufjan Stevens - Get Behind Me Santa
and that perennial family favourite
Grandaddy - Alan Parsons In A Winter Wonderland

Malcolm Middleton's cheery We're All Going to Die complete with Santa vid:
The Sonics -- "Don't Believe in Christmas" would be nice, Gid!
must be santa - bob dylan
A Christmas Prayer by Billy Fury - or the rather lovely cover of the same by Saint Etienne.
I shall be tuning in to any DJ that announces they will not be playing any Christmas tunes.
Let's be honest, 99.9% of them are pants.
As in all things, it's the 0.1% that I'm after.
There are some good ones, some of them new. I will be playing them.
And I will also play some old ones. Some big hitters and some, I'll admit it, likely to get played elsewhere. But not all.
Peely once played a track called "It looks like reindeer" by the Antlers. Must've been quite good, mustn't it?
Bit obvious, but Waitresses "Christmas wrapping" is rather fine.
I have a soft spot for "Rockin' around the Christmas Tree" by Brenda Lee, "Frosty the Snowman" by Leon Redbone and "Deck the Halls" by Jacob Miller which was played on the show last year. The rather bonkers nature of Mr Miller's record may be explained by the somewhat unconventional Xmas tree he is holding on the cover.
Many many years ago I was listening to the radio and a Christmas single being played caught my attention. When the track finished I was sure the DJ said it was by XTC. I have never heard it since, extensive research, well Wikipedia anyway, offers few clues to what it could have been. I am beginning to think the whole episode was a dream and I have built a false memory of an infectiously catchy melodic Christmas single that never was.
Can anyone help? Does it exist? If it does I would really like to hear it again

Thanks for Christmas?
Thanks LoudGeoff, that's the one.
