No idea why I called it that because I have no idea what's going to happen. But I do know it looks a lot better than it did earlier this year.
I've been neglecting these boards somewhat of late and I'll make a concerted effort to use them more. I know I've said that before, and I've been guilty of using Twitter a lot which I will continue to do because it's a useful thing, but I will also endeavour to use these boards as well. Mainly to float ideas, sort out upcoming specials and indulge in the odd the punning thread.
Such nights as the Short Record specials have relied heavily on postings here and I don't want to lose that way of harvesting brilliant listener suggestions.
It's also a place where you can comment on and make suggestions for the programme without my prompting so please do.
So, hold me to it. New threads ahoy. Mainly to do with upcoming specials as the nights draw in but other stuff do as it strikes me.
Currently listening to Impossible Germany by Wilco.. you?
Salut
Gidx

Your own Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ messageboard, Gid, use it or lose it!
As for "harvesting" listener suggestions... best only use the ripe ones, my chaff is for the birds

Enjoying the new Pernice Brothers 'Goodbye Killer' currently on the heels of you playing an older PB track last night. Can I be a bit of a duffer and point out that your tracklisting is incorrect for it, and it should be "Blinded by the Stars" and not "The Sun" as the website says. They of course did have a track called "There Goes The Sun" off another album. As I said, sorry to be a duffer on these matters.

Blimey, on checking I see I own a Pernice Brothers cd from '98!
Overcome By Happiness he puts it in to the machine ...
I seem to be listening to a lot of alt country and female vocalists (with some overlap)at the moment, since you ask. Phosphorescent for example in the first category, Rose Elinor Dougal and (new Heavenly signing) Sea Of Bees in the second, with Caitlin Rose in both camps.
Not much time for music just at the moment though. Have to prepare and deliver a "father of the bride" speech - preferably one that doesn't degenerate into a drunken abusive rambling monologue which triggers a family rift for generations to come. Challenging. Any advice gratefully received.
Thanks for Pernice Brothers airing from me too by the way.

Do I get points for my signed copy of Yours, Mine & Ours by the Pernice Brothers, acquired from Mr Coe's show back in the day?

Depends who signed it Geoff. Joe or Bob Pernice - top marks. If it was Sting then nil points

Seen Joe play twice, one with Peyton and once without and he was much better with Peyton.
Still waiting for a Peyton puppet though. Which will mean nothing unless you're following the ongoing 'Pernice to Me' ...
I've seen The Pernice Brothers on a number of occasions including a couple of times with PP. "Pink" is the coolest man in the world, I always felt. Have a copy of Chappaquidick Skyline signed by him and Joe somewhere. Must go and dig that out and give it a spin.

I'd lost patience a little recently with Wilco but that won me over. Might need a re-think
are we far enough into the future to give jonathan's that summer feeling a spin?

Me, I'm still holding out for David's Last Summer by Pulp. Actually, now there's no denying it, is there any chance of playing My Autumn's Done Come by Lee Hazlewood?
rob in leafy s10
jarvis started yesterday's birthday show with lee's my autumns done come. very good it was too.
He always gets there first. I think I played David's Last Summer some time in late Spring. Foolish thing to do I know. Due another airing I reckon. Have trawled through another pile of records and had a brainstorming session with myself for some thread ideas. We should have enough for tonight.
Listening to an edit of a Fela Kuti number which comes in at a measly 9 minutes 50.
