How interesting! we've not had one of these for a bit, so it seems - really interesting stuff, thanks to everyone who set it up!
A great interview. Robert evidently warmed to Gideon and it was brilliant to hear him talk about the session tracks so fondly.
This is a clip of Robert at the opening of the Go Between Bridge dressed in hard hat and hi-vis jacket -
Hopefully there will be more interviews like this on Gid's show in the months to come.
both charming men, a delight to lug in.
costly, mind. have to buy bob dylan's time out of mind due to the way they were talking about the album.

Arrrppp (Gloucestershirese for 'yes')
......not that I'm from Gloucester.......
As good a guest as you could wish for. Not least for the records I got to play too. The guest list for the show now reads;-
Robert Forster
Ben Watt and Tracey Thorn
Jah Wobble
Georgia and Ira Yo La Tengo
Viv Albertine.
I'll happily add to that list when I get the chance.
Gid - that's what was so good. The guest really added something to the show, not just conversation but also the tracks. I really enjoyed hearing Robert enthuse about Sarah Blasko and Elvis Presley's band.
Where do we start the campaign for at least one weekly interview slot?
Good to hear an eloquent performer- and always good to hear the Go-betweens.
Any chance of getting Jens Lekman in (he's in London at the start of August)
I've just heard Harmonia (Moebius & Roedelius from Cluster plus Michael Rother from Neu!) on Gid's show for the first time ever. This is what makes saving 6Music worthwhile!
Having seen the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ documentary on Krautrock with a good deal of fascinating contributions by Michael Rother, how about interviewing him?
Just wanted to add how much I enjoyed this interview as well.
I don't know why but interviews just seem to work better in the evening

I think its because they're not so rushed and more indepth. Not forgetting Gideons doing the interviewing of course

where the guv'nor leads........
so what else could we have?
The Kim Wilde Suspension Bridge ("You just keep me hanging on")
The B-52s Airport Expressway ("something to do with lobsters?")
The The Cure A Forest Adventure Trail of Doom ("you're running towards nothing". Season ticket available "again and again and again...")
so what else could we have?Β
Rename City of Manchester Stadium (Eastlands) to "Sh*thausen". I'm sure Marc/Jock would approve
