The Jam plus my fridge = megamix superchunk heaven.
I had left the fridge door open when Lauren started off this morning. Result:
"Hello Hooray bip bip bip what a nice day for the Eton Rifles, Eton Rifles,
Hello Hooray bip bip bip I hope rain stops play for the Eton Rifles, Eton Rifles..."
How hard did I have to try to synchronise that?
Any other machine music to share?

Are you saying your fridge gives a warning noise when it's been left open, like a car? That's a bit fancy.

I don't understand.

OK, leave fridge or freezer door open, it warms up, alarm goes off "bip bip bip" during Eton Rifles (in this case). Don't they all?
I haven't heard of a car that makes a noise if you leave the doors open, thus warming up, though I DO know a car that makes NO noise when you turn the ignition key a couple of days after leaving the tailgate open (and light on).
I was once listening to a cassette of Kraftwerk's "Metall Auf Metall" from Trans Europa Express
turned up to 11 while driving through motorway roadworks and failed to hear the massed pneumatic drills of the Highways Agency as they fitted in perfectly...

In above link "Metall Auf Metall" goes up to about 1:40, the rest is "Abzug" ("(train) departure" / "copy")

No I'm sure I've never heard a freezer alarm. Last time I left one open it just went ahead and widdled on the floor without telling me.
You surely must have heard the alarm in a car. If you close your door but not firmly enough and start driving you get a beep beep and a flashing light on the dashboard, showing which door it is.

I think you must have a top of the range Cortina GXL, never heard of an audible warning on a car - beyond all the other cars on the road honking at the idiot driving around without his doors closed.
The warning on a Hungarian-made Audi TT sportscar that you have forgotten to replace the fuel filler cap is 1) PLONK! bounce, bounce, bounce 2) "Oi! Mr. Audi Driver! Your petrol cap just fell off!" shouted by everyone at the petrol station...

I think I've even seen it in a car as rank as a 1993 Fiat Tipo. People can't see the door's open because it appears to be closed it just hasn't clunked properly. The warning is to prevent the door flying open if you go round a tight bend.

My brother's Hillman Imp had a switch on end of the dashboard, and a little red light at the other end.
The switch turned the light on. The light warned you the switch was in the down position. It was a perfect, closed system. Unlike the Imp which was in imperfect, porous and leaky system. Especially around the roof and the radiator.
The purchase of the Imp was a mistake for an 18 year old. It's very hard to impress any woman (born after, say, 1960) with a Hillman Imp. Even if you let her play with the little switch/light get-up.

The coffee percolator in BHS's restaurant in Leeds used to make a 'ping!' sound not a million miles away from the one that starts Pink Floyd's 'Echoes'!

conversely, if a woman with a Hillman Imp wanted impressing when it wouldn't start, it was a challenge for anyone without his City & Guilds Jedi Masters in Mechanics!

Those vevezuelas(?) playing constantly through the England vs USA game on another channel sounded to me like they were going to go into the start of Suede's 'Animal Nitrate'!

The entire world cup sounds like being stuck in a French traffic jam. Or George Lamb leaning on all his effects buttons at once.

MG Maestro/Montego annoying dashboard voice that said "low on fu el" (syllables separated...) when you weren't. It was probably because I hadn't shut the door properly.
Ah, late BL build quality...making Imps look good....
A mate of mine's in SA filming stuff. He's bringing me back a vuvuzela, so I'll go and blow it at Margo McDonald.
