We just had the Midlands hour yesterday so there IS a tenuous link. I'm going to be in Stoke on Friday and I want to find something to do. It's a bit of a scattered place and it's 11 years since I lived there so I wondered if any of you clever-clogses know of any decent independent record shops/pubs with good music and pale ale or other sights of interest.
Cheers duck thanks (as the lady at the offy or "the outdoor" if you will, used to say.)
There's a Robbie Williams museum.
As you would expect, there are potteries museums.
I'm sure I saw a bloke interviewed on the telly who was curator of a small museum - GPO Telephones or something like that - but I don't see it.
There's always the famous "D" - the A500...
Yeah I had enough of the D Road to last me a lifetime. Crossed it every day for work or to go down to Festival Park and cause trouble in the car park. ('course I didn't)
My Dad's decided we're spending some vouchers in Hanley's M&S (woo.) and I'm going to Stoke town centre to try Rubber Soul Records, don't think it's got a stand-out pub though.
I'm sure I remember driving through Stoke and seeing loads of toilets stacked up in a yard. Couldn't tell you where they might be, though. Tourist Information might be able to help you find them. Perhaps they were part of the Robbie Williams museum.
