What music have you heard for the first time on Gideon's show that you've really "gotten into man"
I would have to say "Au Revoir Simone" , "White Rainbow" and "Dan Deacon"
Looking forward to many more.

Gid played Camille's "Ta Douleur" and so did Phill.
When French friends gave me the compact disc, they were amazed I already knew Camille!

Nice one. Thats what I'm talking about. It's great to have a music station that can turn you on to music that may be, in some opinions (not mine) obscure to say the least. May Gid's show and 6 Music last for many a year to come.

Recently - Decoration and The Bigger Lovers.
Loads more down the years.

Loads!
Trashcan Sinatras, A Certain Ratio, Ladybug Transistor, Northern Portrait, Sea & Cake (and thereafter Sam Prekop, Mojave 3, The Coal Porters and many more.
I pretty much have to allow myself a 'Gid budget' whenever I get a chance to listen to a regular run of shows. Still, glad of each and every purchase inspired by his wonderful show.

Loads from 6 music generally, but Gid specifically probably Midlake and recently Lambchop - even hubby liked that one. Also love that Passions one he plays occasionally but haven't been able to find it anywhere.

"I'm in Love with a German Film Star"?
Here it is on vinyl (on digital):
what's it like using digital technology to hear crackles and scratches?
The LP "Passion Plays" has no weak track on it in the vein of Intastella's "What You Gonna Do" from ten years later. It seems it's a compilation of three LPs they released.
The order number of "Passion Plays" is Polydor 529860-2, though it seems to have been deleted again...

Forgot to say that's the compact disc, though IIRC the "-2" at the end of the catalogue number gives it away.
So this is what they looked like:
I recall the phrase once used of Robert Smith (at Crystal Palace?) "like a startled cat had just fallen a great distance onto his head"...

I'm forever scribbling down names of bands/songs on post-it notes and then losing them somewhere in my bedroom. Woke up with one inside my pyjama top this morning. Completely illegible, sadly.

Think this is in a thread elsewhere but This Is Seb Clarke have to be up there for me. Would never have heard them otherwise!

Wanted to thank Gideon for playing A Sunny Day in Glasgow on his show recently. I bought two very good records: "Nitetime Rainbows" and "Ashes Grammar" and would happily recommend this band to fans of My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive and the Cocteau Twins. Thanks Gid -- my record collection needed that! Grow out of it? -- Never!

I agree with you.

Without wishing to sound too sycophantic about it, Gid has been responsible for introducing me to almost every "new release" album I've purchased in the last 5 years.
He's also responsible for my financial ruination.

This year - Phosphorescent, The Jeffrey Lee Pierce tribute record spring to mind. Also appreciated the nod to re-discover some Blue Aeroplanes, Julian Cope and the late great Vic Chesnutt.
