Hello
For an imaginary five pounds, what was the first record I played at 10am? And what was our first Great Lost Album? I can remember it as if it were yesterday. Unlike yesterday of which I have at best sketchy recollections.
So, tonight I thought about theming the show to the birthday and all things 6music but then I thought every show is themed to 6music. That's what it does. So that's what we'll do tonight.
Saves me a lot of bother as well. So, that's the plan tonight (Thursday). Join me if you can as we have some proposed specials to discuss. 9pm sharp. After Riley. Or whenever you can make it.
x
i don't know, 6music was four years old before i stumbled upon it. i remember duffing badges. think i'm still in the pending pile.
i'll be there, but late, good enough for bob first.

10 am? Probably Rik Waller's - 'I Will Always Love You' or The Blue Nile's 'Tinseltown in the Rain'. One of the two.
PS Do not play anything by Altered Images tonight!

Go with Sugarcubes instead.
Was the album 'Shades Of A Blue Orphanage' - Thin Lizzy

you'll make me Pinky Blue.
I remember when an aggreesively lower case alternative radio station celebrated its first birthday and they said that to ask for the Sugar Cubes was "cheesy"!
So I wished I hadn't.
As though I might always listen to the Banshees' "Join Hands" on Armistice Day!
...well, I do...
Cheesy sugar cubes: drole de plat! They'll be on Heston Blumenthal's menu next week.
On the subject of food, could anyone advise me on how I might break the strong chemical bond between my lady's pastry and the dish it was baked in?

soak it overnight and get the power sander out tomorrow?
If the Wedding Present covered Happy Birthday, did the Skids ever do "I Could be Happy"?
I could soak it indefinitely but I have a feeling that the ceramic will dissolve before the pastry.
If she reads this, I'm in deep Laroux.
Was it Squeeze - Another Nail In My Heart? Sure it was played early on.No idea about the Great Lost Album though...
Sometimes soaking in a solution of biological washing machine powder will fix stuff. Or bicarbonate of soda. Or white vinegar.
Alternatively, leave it on the sideboard as a permanent rebuke. Then next time you're in trouble for something, just turn and point at the ruined dish, with a disappointed look on your face.
Thanks, Fist.
I'll try all of those things both individually and collectively. If I can't shift it, I'm hoping Sainsbury's (OSAA) do a washing-up liquid with aqua regia in it. It's not all bad news, though, I'm going to ask Amanda to make some more so I can use it to fill the holes around the heating pipes through which large spiders come down from the loft and give me dreadful starts (the heat from the pipes should cure the pastry in the same way that one cures exhaust putty). Also, I think it would make an excellent and durable filling for teeth except that baking it in the mouth could have unfortunate side-effects (burns, for a start).
Again, many thanks.
