I was very very interested to find out which tracks from Lauren Laverne's show were her own "freeplay" choices on 16th & 17th Feb. So, I wonder if Nemone's team could tell us what her freeplays were on those days?
Many thanks, in advance
PS: mb colleagues - I'd like to encourage a response, so if you've other comments about the show, perhaps raise them later/elsewhere? Just this once, as a favour to me? Thanks
Damn and blast - in the wrong message board - how did I do that?
Gid - if you know the answers, pipe up. Otherwise I'm going to have to find someone to tow this car-crash of a thread over to the Inside 6music board. At this time of night! On a weekend! The cost!
Well, you had me checking my links there (or "axe" as Lynx is known on the continent - other etc.)
By answering, this thread is now at the top - can't have that...
Ha - I remember it being Axe when I lived in Switzerland in the 80s. Oh memories..... actually, not many. Bit of a black hole.... I do remember a lot of bad german heavy metal. And white trainers and stone washed jeans. And patchouli oil. And crimped hair. Not all worn by me. Best not dwell. Move on.
But this thread is still in the wrong place. What to do? Should I report myself to a moderator? And what for? Idiocy? Being overly crapulous at supper time?
Dear oh dear. Fist, this has completely messed up the delicate balance of the threads on this board.
I've no idea what to do about it. Though I find comfort in the reissue of Afro Rock Vol 1. Of which more on Monday if I remember.
I've been a bibulous nincompoop.
In the olden days bibulous nincompoops - somewhere I have been and will go to again I suspect - used to make phone calls to old flames or write songs on out of tune guitars or play records very loudly. Now they/we can do all that and also post online.
That's progress.
Welcome back Gid! I trust you are bronzed and god-like! I believe it was mad hot in Carlise all last week!
[checks call log on mobile phone]
Carlisle? Isn't that in that place they call "The North"? I have to travel in that direction myself, soon, to see some friends who have moved to a village called Didsbury. I've not been that close to the arctic circle before but I gather that the folk up there live in stony silence in dark dwellings known as "ginnells" and speak only to the pigeons that they keep in the outside toilet. Any advice on local customs would be welcome as well as recommendations as to what jabs I may need to have before I go.
Jabs? Work on your left hook.
I'll probably need to after saying all that.
I can exclusively reveal that Lauren used all her free-plays on the theme to Midnight Cowboy. Some of the listeners didn't like hearing it so much but I enjoyed the wistfulness.
Midnight Cowboy!? Isn't that Noel Edmonds' milkman, Flynn, playing the harmonica?
Haroldseye - it ain't quite the stone age backwater you make it out to be and we're one of the few snow-free areas in the country at present, in fact, take note Mr Riley, we've had a damn sight more sun than many of you lately.
I'm sure CyrilBensonofPenrith will back me up on this. Then again, we don't converse much with that lot 17 miles down the road - call that north....pahh!?
Yours sincerely,

Massive thread drift, very early on, but probably a hell of a lot more entertaining than if it had ended up in it's intended slot.

of course I was thinking of Ruff Mix - having just listened to the 24" of the Singing Sheep (like a double length 12" but 48 times as bad!)
1) Whoever thought of buying the 12" of the Singing Sheep?
2) Whoever posted it on me-toob?
3) Whoever thought to actually listen to it* complete with quacks and moos? Now I know why there were only 12 views.

And I'm *still* waiting for my Christmas message from Liz - and I've been a very good boy, too!

As this is most off topic off topic there is, may I just note that Gid just played that tune with my name running all the way through it?
No?
Sorry.

Enough now.
While we're completely off topic, please note my change of gender. From now on, I want to be treated like a proper lady.

I wander over to another board and you've had a gender realignment!
Hate to think what would happen if you appeared on the Freak Zone board in this mood.
I've shaved my back and bought a new hat. Won't somebody dance with me?

yes Colourbox, were those samples from Westworld in there too?
I recognised it. One of my old tapes!
But even offer topic, it was called "Give them whiskey" or something.
If n00bs come to these boards seeking dogs, they'll need whiskey when trying to find the thread!
