Thanks, Gid, for finding that. I watched Chitty Chitty Bang Bang on Saturday for the first time in forty years and that performance stood out beyond Richard Wattis, James Robertson Justice, Max Wall and Stanley Unwin - even Gert (Goldfinger) Fröbe, Arthur Mullard and Barbara Windsor!
What a trouper - jauntily singing the Port Out Starboard Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ song while travelling through the sea in an outside lavatory building suspended from a Zeppelin!
We shan't see his like again. Any chance of playing that jolly little number? I note the spies lifted the strangely toilet-free privy so that the ingenious inventor they thought they had caught had his own LA-bratory with him (US pronunciation)
