So can you remember how much pocket money you received back in the day and from whom?
Mine goes something like this;
1979 ish - 10p per week
1982 - 20p per week
1988 Entitlement withdrawn.
My nan and grandad used to pay me. My dad was a bank manager you see.
During the mid-70s I got 25p and my older brother 40p.
Singles were 65p so we'd get one a week.
Unless one of us spent the lot on Yorkie bars.
I used to get 10p a week at one stage in the 1970s (due to inflation would be really important to know just when) including a supplement for getting the coal.
At the time Wall's Woppas (other lollies were available but cost more) were 2p each. Drool.
Weren't singles less than 50p each on decimalisation?
A supplement for getting the coal?
Don't you just hate seasonal work.
From age 11 in early 1975 I got 50p per week from my Mum, which I used to by one new single(50p)or maybe two from the 'drop-outs' box (25p each or 5 for Β£1). Christmas and birthdays brought the hoped for record tokens to be put towards buying an LP.
