Samples: The Beastie or the Pop - which came first?

  Andrew just played The Beastie Boys' track "Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves" which includes the words "rhyming and stealing".
  
  I was going to ask:
  
  "Did Pop Will Eat Itself sample that for "Hit The Hi-Tech Groove" (IIRC "robbing, stealing")? or did the Beasties nick the idea off the Pops?"
  
  but I have found that the sample "robbing, stealing" actually comes from 'We're Only Bugging' by Whistle. (won't link to the page due to cussing)
