Hello,
Just thought I'd post a message here to let you know what's going on for the next couple of weeks.
On the show that is, no idea what is going on anywhere else apart from at home where I'm fighting off a cold by the power of balti
Here's what we have
Mon 21st - Highlights of 6music festival coverage 2009 plus lots of other records some of them festive.
Tuesday 22nd - as above
Weds 23rd - as above with even more Christmas records.
Mon 28th - 1979 special
Tues 29th - 1989 special
Weds 30th - 1999 special with Gary Crowley.
All the above are Live Live Live... Hope you can join me and the rest of the team. If he makes it in okay.
Just also wanted to say thanks very much for all the support and brilliant input and ideas over the past year. Here's to more of the same in 2010.
Merry Christmas
Gidx
Thanks for the info, Gid.
As for Christmas, I reckon I'll have the shopping sorted by Saturday week.
Just hoping my Famousgreekblokejet flight will make it to Munich for my traditional New Year! (other airlines may be available depending on the Space Jam index of their crew - do they believe they can fly?)
Have a great one! You don't need stuff, you don't even need books hidden away since Hay-on-Wye to present to you now, you just need your family and the dulcet tones of the Christmas No.1 resounding softly around your home.
Or curl up on a leather armchair with a fine malt whisky (remaining drink aware, i.e. don't spill it) and a thread about sheds.
And all the best to everyone else reading this!
Chris in Thames Ditton sends best wishes too. (if I were a bear, would I be a white one out of AC/DC, i.e. bipolar?)
Cheers Gideon,
All the best to you and your family for Christmas and the New Year.
Here's to more great music in 2010.
Matt, Jane and Max.

happy solstice and new year.
all the best for 2010

Merry Xmas Gid!
Hey, thanks for playing four of my short ones on Wednesday night.
Have a great one.
Geoff
Hi Gideon,
Sorry to hear that you may be developing a cold. I had one myself recently and my good lady brought round a curry and massaged my feet. This treatment didn't cure my cold but I did feel much better and got a good night's kip. I would also recommend those powerful lozenges that were developed for gatherers of piscene creatures. Happily, the Swine Flu scare appears to have abated but, to be on the safe side, perhaps you should be on the look out for signs and symptoms such as a new-found talent for finding truffles or any cravings for swill. We listeners can do our bit by keeping an ear out for involuntary grunts and squeals during next week's shows.
Enough of this drivel, have a lovely Christmas.
Merry Christmas to you and yours Gid - crackin' shows again this year, doubtless more of the same in 2010................
Mozo says Merry Xmas too.
(The new log-in system doesn't like him. And quite rightly so)

I too would like to extend my festive greetings to one and all, and thank Mr Coe for another year of quality broadcasting, as well as all you others that have contributed - can't say I've been much use on that front, but I enjoy the results all the same.
Thanks Gid for a wealth of new music over the last year. The best show on the radio by a mile!
Merry Christmas to you and yours.
thanks for the music gideon, and the company. merry christmas, x

Ay up Gid - it's all very jolly on this page, isn't it? Quite right too. Thanks for a great year of playing all the right music* and saying all the right things...
Happy Xmas and here's to 2010.

Yep Happy Christmas Gideon and all members of the Gidarmy.
I still don't think a Balti is strong enough to get rid of a cold. How about a red thai curry? Festive colour and is certain to sweat those germs out.

Gid
I would just like to say thank you for the music, thanks for all the joy its bringing, who can live without it? I ask in all honesty. What would life like be without a song or a dance. So I say thank you for the music, for giving it to me.*
And the duffing of course.
Hope you have a good Christmas with the family.
*Or something like that, I blame my mother for exposing me to abba at a young age

Have a great Christmas Gid!
Just so you all know, during the Christmas holidays, the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ boards will:
close at 1800 on Thursday December 24 and open again at 10am Sunday 27 December
and
will close again 1800 on Thursday 31st December and re-open Saturday 2nd January at 9am.
This gives the moderators a chance to spend some time with their families.
Have a great Christmas everyone.
thanks Peta. And thanks for your efforts in 2009. These boards are where a lot of the ideas for the show come from and are roadtested. Long may that continue. At it's best it's a hotbed of amazing creativity.
Talking of which I'm hoping the break will give me the chance to think of at least one stupid punning game idea.
I wish I'd learned how to do the Christmas smileys.
x
Thanks gid!
blimey! Is that a Peta-only smiley?
let's try it -
No! It's a stealth, power-order-only smiley!
As we now have a 3-hour countdown to Christmas, and today is the big day in Finland anyway, my yodelling toy marmot says:
HYVÄÄ JOULUA!
NB - Marmots don't come from Finland, they come from the Alps.
And they don't yodel as such, they whistle...
so if you see a Swiss-registered Ford Popular behind the skips in the Superi carpark in Tampere (other Finnish supermarkets are available) with an alpenhorn on the back seat, the secret of mass marmot migration will be solved.
Anyway,
HYVÄÄ JOULUA to one and all!
