  Hi Gideon
  I remember buying "Shabini" by The Bhundu Boys in 1986 after hearing them on John Peel - a genre of music I wouldn't have otherwise been unaware of. So joyful to hear these tracks this evening- Thank you!

  Gosh, I remember seeing The Bhundu Boys near Putney Bridge (Kings Head?) with John Peel in the audience.
  
  Great fun!
  Also later that week we went to see Julian Cope at the Westminster Methodist Hall and if you listen closely during the video of said show, you will hear me and Steve Radford cheering with a Bhundu Boys "ULULULULULOOO" (and occasionally "Give me wings ! I want to fly where my spirits are!")
  
  On a tangential note, in the last month I have twice seen Slim out of the Boothill Foot Tappers.
  Next time I shall say "Hello, I saw your band play several times in the 80s and had a great time!" or something similar.
  
  The 80s were much better than the ensuing decades.

  On a not-unrelated matter that fits nicely into No Discussion Title, I intend to make a habit of emailing congratulations to Gid whenever I catch him playing Kitchens Of Distinction, as he did last night. Last time was when he opened his show with them, a year or so back - what was it - "When In Heaven" (their killer choon)? Not sure. Crowbar it in soon!
