Phew - just logged onto it
"it's there."
Can I hear Bez?
I wondered how potty-mouthedness (or, indeed, use of language) got edited out...
but Gid was posting at 10am? Hope he's not "sleep-posting"...

I understand that the job of a 6Music DJ is a 24 hour one. While most of us simply switch the radio off at Midnight, Gideon has no such luxury. He immediately starts work on Spanish, Italian, German and French language versions of the show. Allowing for a 'personal needs' break or two he usually finishes at about 2pm the next day.
After that it's a quick trip to the orphaned puppies charity, a check up on the folk in the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Radio presenter retirement home in Wood Lane, then back to the studio to prepare witty comments and records for the next evening's show.
And if Gideon denies any of the above, he's just being modest.
With some variations, Mike's account would appear to tally with today's schedule and at least in part explains why it's gone 2pm and I'm still in pyjamas.
Apologies for sharing.
Today's Dilbert cartoon:
CATBERT, THE EVIL DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES, POSTS A JOB OPENING:
"Requirements: Candidate must have an IQ of 300, two centuries of UNIX experience and a track record of winning Nobel Prizes..."
So there's one opening for 6 Music hopefuls.
I *wondered* why people were asking me about the derivation of the term Lada-hosen. German show version, of course!
It could be that keeping up with the Slovenian-language version of Cerys's show will be a tricky one...as the main word of Slovenian I know comes from watching the Blues Brothers with Slovenian subtitles and is the key one in Eddie Murphy's vocabulary... (except in Shrek)
I'd get the Slovenian standard-setters' stick strike situation if I posted it.
So I won't.

I wonder why I've never heard of these foreign language versions before: is Gid known by different names in different countries, like Laurel and Hardy, Where's Wally and Vauxhalls?
true.
Gideon's German show reportedly goes out on WDR 4 as "Die Schienenersatzverkehrsbundesfernstreckennetzdonauschifffahrtsdampfergesellschaftsvorzugsaktie Revue". It is said it is impossible to listen again to it, as purely the show's own jingle is said to last for four and a half hours...
ach du lieber Himmel! der kleine der Box does not der enough space for der longen Worden have! What about Bundesnachrichtendienstweggefallenermilitärdienstältesterhubschrauberersatzteilsbesorgungsnetz...?
i can't find last night's tracklisting. please share, thanks x
Will investigate.
