Saw Andrew Bird last night at the Union Chapel in Islington and was it was an utterly mesmerising performance, perfect surroundings for the innovative craftings of, in my opinion, one of the great new American songwriters (I can't quite decide who's better Bird,Sufjan Stevens or Vic Chesnutt, maybe he's Canadian?)
A great voice, wondrous instrumentation, sublime whistling in nearly every song all accompanied by AB's whirly gramophone speakers, truly magical.
Also the support who were Moriarty deserve a mention. They are like a slightly jazzier, quirkier, early 10,000 Maniacs. I was thoroughly entertained and not a drop passed my lips in reverence to the beautiful venue. 9/10.

Nice review, I've always wanted to see Andrew Bird. He was fantastic also at Green Man, by all accounts.
