  oasis at heaton park. people were all throwing warm beer and i got a good soaking,
  and this morning i smelt like rotten sugar puffs

  Just on a point of order I ate some of the above-mentioned breakfast cereal this morning (others are available) and found it to be slightly disappointing.
  
  As for the liquid, I cannot comment but I share your concerns.
  
  Refunds all round I understand. I hope they played Columbia, it's their best song by quite a distance.

  I received an e-mailed advert for this gig from an on-line ticket vendor a few weeks ago. Although I was enthralled as an impressionable teenager with the Brothers Grimm, as I've advanced in years, I've found that I no longer have the required tolerance to listen to anything beyond their second album, (and some of the B-sides of the singles from that album were a bit ropey; a sign of things to come?).
  
  Anyway, the advert listed who was supporting and below the Enemy and Kasabian, imagine my shock to see Twisted Sister. For one brief second I was tempted to buy tickets just to witness the site of 40,000 gig-goers growing increasingly bewildered as the Sister rock out with "We're Not Gonna Take It". Imagine my disappointment when I realised it was in fact some new up-start band called Twisted Wheel and not the Sister at all! Bah.
  
  By the way Gid, the demo version of "Columbia" which was the B-side to "Supersonic" is vastly superior to the album version in my humble, and may even be worth trotting out on the show if you feel so inclined.
