  The other day my MP3 player, set on random, played "Ring Ring" by Abba, a tune I'd not listened to in a good few years. As the song progressed, I was struck with just how much it resembles "The Ballard of John and Yoko" by the Beatles.
  
  The bass line is almost identical. Listen to them both back-to-back and tell me it ain't so.
  
  Are there any other songs that don't sample or plainly rip-off other tracks, but which sound really similar or which, for some reason, really remind you of another tune?
  
  I don't know why, but the song "Summer Son" by Texas has always reminded me of a poor imitation of "Atomic" by Blondie. A really, really poor imitation I hasten to add.

  Funny, I always thought 'Summer Son' was a poor imitation of 'Can You Feel It'.
  
  Any other suggestions of songs that 'Summer Son' is a poor imitation of, shall we list them below or does this subject deserve its own thread?
